The 18th is only 12 days away... though depending on your schedule, I'm guessing it could be eating into your holiday break time? In which case I'd understand paying more to have it early.

And yeah, the G9 looks like a tank. Is that what they give out for G7 RMAs now? My G7 is dying again, I think I need to RMA it too.

I think I would choose this instead:

Edit:

Also is the g7 QC that bad? cause I was planning on getting one for my new build. If it is ima just gonna get another g5.

Well, I didn't really have a choice on the mouse. I bought a logitech mouse, it broke, asked for a replacement -- got a G9.

The G7 is nice while it works but I have had to RMA them an incredible 3x!
They simply stop working with no warning.

Good job. Not to knock anyone waiting for the Dell deal, but damn, time is money. Look how much money we blow on food, movies, girlfriends, booze, or whatever obsessions we have. I blow $80.00 a week on nothing.

Yea, saving money is "in." But you gotta have some game..

Lol, that's what I'm typing on right now...I'd say it's an average keyboard. They definitely take a beating though...and don't include any unnecessary stuff.

How much was that keyboard? Do you have a link? I could use a better keyboard than the crap Dell one I have now, hopefully it'll feel around the same minus the wear and the non-functioning Caps Lock key acting as a Widows Key.

That's my favorite keyboard! I first saw / used one at my university's computer labs. Really liked it and ended up buying a 5-pack of them from eBay for $20. One of the best parts about it (for me) is the lack of those useless shortcut / application launching /multimedia buttons found on every other keyboard today.

BTW model number is "RT7D50" if anyone is interested.

FYI, if you have a Micro Center in your area you can routinely score these KBs amongst their piles of refurbed/rehabbed/liquidated parts. These parts mainly come from old computers from big businesses when they refresh their systems company-wide. Esp. these keyboards, they are the std. Dell KBs for their business-oriented systems. There oughta be a beaucoup of these parts coming in to the pipeline early next year too as GM is closing/outsourcing every single one of its components plants in the United States effective 12/21/07. And there will be 100's, if not 1000's, of Dells from each of 31 major plants. Liquidators are already picking them up ...

I recently used my MX1000 mouse all the time, but just got my Steelseries Ikari laser, and what a change! Its by far the best ergonomics I have ever tried on a mouse, and the coating is very nice for your hands.

I'm still waiting for my dell msi myself. Getting back to this mouse thing I was using a logitech mx revolution but it was refusing to track properly so I just replaced it with a ms sidewinder corded laser mouse. This thing is much larger so it fits in my large hand more comfortably plus it tracks properly and has gaming buttons although I hardly ever use the quick spin feature on it.

Is the G9 more comfortable than he G7?

Something about the way my hand rests on the G7 causes my ringfinger to get a little sore.

I did something similar on Wednesday. The differences are that I didn't cancel with Dell and I went with overnight shipping. I just got sick of waiting. As of Wednesday, I had a pile of upgrade parts from Black Friday cluttering up the home office. Now I have a 8800GT in my main rig. The fan has been RivaTuned. It seems great. The pile of parts is going down. It's all good. If the MSI from Dell ever ships, I'll have to decide if I want it in my second rig or if it's going on eBay.

I mean really, what are our basic finite things we have to spend? That's right, time and money. You can save money and have more time by gaining interest, etc. having your money work for you. You can also save time or enhance your time spent by paying for conveniences. Don't know where that came from, but I felt I needed to post it.

Well, my card came in and is working flawlessly.

Wow, I had forgotten how much less of a hassle it is to have 1 card vs 2.

BTW, the dell keyboard and the G9 are phenomenal.

The keyboard is nice and springy and the mouse along with the ratpadz is silky smooth -- Highly recommend this combo.

Any games you want me to try out? I have an ass load of games (recent ones).
