I don't want to multi boot

I reformatted my computer last night and reintstalled windows xp. The first time I tried to do an unattended setup and I think that it started to install onto my D: drive. I didn't want that so on the next reboot, I reran the process manually and installed it onto the C: where I want it. Now whenever I start up I get a multiboot window for windows Pro. I then went into explorer and deleted the windows directory from my d:. I still have the muliboot so I figure there is something in the registry, how do I get rid of this.

Um... no.

themightygeckoe, you're going to want to edit the boot.ini file. It should be found in C: and is a hidden, system file so adjust your Explorer prefs in order to see it. You'll see two entries in boot.ini, one for each XP installation. Figure out which is the old one (I think they're listed in the same order as see at bootup), and delete it.

No you don't.

Simply type bootcfg /delete /ID# at a command prompt where # is the # on the boot loader screen of the XP installation that you removed.

...cleverhandle's solution works just as well, bootcfg actually does the same thing, you just don't have to worry about editing the file.
