I got lay off today

Anyways...try a financial position in a nonfinancial company.

People seem to be getting laid off/fired all around me at my job, but thankfully I've survived so far, knock on wood.

my company got bought out by another a few months ago. they told everyoen that their jobs were safe and no one was going to lose them. Friday they announced that they are letting 6 people go because they are consolidating those depts to the corporate office. One of the people being let go is a good work friend. 5 ahve until the end of June. 1 has until the end of March.

My roommate is getting a BA in finance and just got a job with a big 4 accounting firm. Heh, right now is the time to go into accounting, not finance. I told him to nail a hedge fund manager during an audit, & to think of me.

No, I'm saying that he should think of me as inspiration as he is nailing some hedge fund manager during an audit. As in, he is nailing the dude for me.

All the big financial companies are taking it up the A right now, don't bother applying to any. Tech and pharma are still holding strong, I'd try to get a financial position within those. Good luck

That's fine but leave the Mod out of it. That's the thing I hate about the loss of anonymity. We are free to post and be as obnoxious as the rest of you but some n00b always has to drag the Mod/set an example thing into it. We are not required to set an example. I am sure they factored that into the decision to make us visible.

You may not be required to set a good example, but like it or not you are in a visable position of authority now & people will take shots at you even if you do your best to toe the line.
