Argh. I run a car club mailing list with 380 subscribers. 44 of those use AOL as their Internet disService Provider. Sometime last week, AOL stopped delivering mail to them. I look through my logs, and everything looks hunky-dory. Sendmail reports OK on the message delivery. So, I file a complaing with AOL. Get a reply back three days later explaining how to use AOL's email system (I guess the guy didn't see my bellsouth.net address). Reply back to that saying thanks for the help, that's not what I needed -- it's a server issue. Two days later (this morning), I receive two replies. One telling me that I can't access AOL email outside of the AOL client and the web. Second telling me they can't find my orignal problem (which the lady quoted at the bottom of her message). I reply back to both saying that the problem is not a client issue, but rather a server issue someplace.
The chances of all 44 people accidentally adding my domain as a blocked sender on the same day are next to nil. Maybe AOL made a server change so that they don't accept emails to multiple addresses. Who knows. But they aren't rejecting our email, it's like it's just disappearing into a void. And getting someone to help out is IMPOSSIBLE.
I wish I could escalate the problem to level MCXVII tech support, maybe I'd get some competent help (instead of cut-n-paste replies).
Just my vent. AOL sucks.
