Everybody hates the canned cliche answers vomited up be athletes.
Everybody wishes they would just tell us what is on their minds.
Once again we are reminded to be careful what we wish for... It might come true.
That said, in a sick kind of way, I respect Tim for saying what he said. Of course I think what he said was innapropriate, hateful and ridiculous and I don't condone it in any way... but he didn't dance around the issue like the other NBA players have. If you're a biggot, be a biggot so the rest of us know.
I listen to ESPN radio a lot and the theme that has been expressed by pretty much everyone is that homophobia is rampant in the NBA. "Yo Momma" comments have been replaced by gay slurs.
Jackie Robinson has nothing on the first guy who declares himself to be openly gay while competing in professional team sports. (The big 4... hockey, football, baseball, basketball) That guy is going to have to be superhuman to deal with the can of worms that he opens up.
