I have an emachine

I want to get a new graphics card so I can play UT2004 better, but my current motherboard only has PCI slots. I plan to buy a new motherboard that has a PCI-E slot but I'm not sure whether or not it will fit in the emachines case. Will it?

well ill take a guess that since you have a fairly recent P4, its ATX mobo and a new mobo will fit


but before you hold me to this, whats the size of the eMachine case (measurements)?

I don't think it's possible. I think Emachine and other computer makers customize their cases to only fit their own components. I believe Emachine PC cases are very small.

Hi, I'm not familiar with your EMachine, but I have an EMachine Mother Board living in another case. Only problems was with USB front connector, but I took it out of the old case and adapted it to the one. Luck, Jim

Drop the case, get a new case, buy the new motherboard, transfer all contents of parts etc to new case, throw old case away or mod it to something cool... The End... Standard (and future upgradeable cases) are cheap. Dont limit yourself to the emachines box...

With my old emachines....was like a 1ghz celeron i had an AGP slot funny....but uh..there was enough room inside for my MX440 (MONSTER!!!).....but as for pci...6200 is the best card available

Get another case. Your power supply most likely will be inadequate for any upgrade. The machine can be converted to an Linux rig or given to a first timer.
