Propose a compromise. Offer to go over, unplug everything, and take her computer to the Geek Squad for her so she doesn't have to do it herself. Make sure you tell her you'll plug everything back up again but she's paying the Geek Squad herself.

Well i went over and talked to her. She understood were i was coming from. then i decided to go take a look at the comp, since i was hurting my niece's more since they had HW to do tonight and needed to research a bit, AND my aunt was being EL cheapo and didn't want to pay the $80 diagnostics charge geeksquad wanted. so i looked at it, and low and behold, the single stick of memory (256mb ) came loose and just needed to be snapped back in. so i guess im a sucker.
