I don't really want to know where you work. It is no secret that MLK Jr Medical Center is one of the worst hospitals in California...maybe in the entire country. Seriously, there are lawsuits all the time because of poor care, patient deaths due to malpractice, cops won't even let themselves be taken there if they are in critical condition. I've heard stories of a person needing to have a limb removed and they removed the wrong limb.

she's really not the sharpest tool on the shed, so I make fun of her alot. Some of the things she's done in the past:

burned herself with dry ice trying to remove moles-had to go to ER
got in an accident because she looped her seatbelt throught her steering wheel
called a fired IT specialist @ 0200, 1 month after he was fired to fix our computer
drank phisohex (body wash), when her dentist told her to gargle peridex mouthwash. went to the ER
destroyed about 10k worth of drugs when she left gauze inside our robot dispenser.
bought a pit bull as a pet for her 5 and 6 year old girls

among other crazy things I can't recall off the top of my head

What I'm saying is that you shouldn't just hush until you get home, you should stop treating this woman poorly whether she deserves it or not. It's not about how she feels (because who cares about what a woman feels), it's about protecting you and yours even if it means treating this life-failure properly.

Don't make fun of her anymore. Be polite. Say hi and smile when you see her. Ask how she's doing from time to time. Pretend you care. Lie. She can go to HR any time she likes and make complaints about your harassing her. You have to make her forget that you make fun of her.
