I need a RAM recommendation

Hi,
I just ordered an ASUS A7N8X and a Barton 2500+ for my new setup.

I ordred 1 stick of 512MB PC 3200 Buffalo RAM. My question is:

Should I order a second stick of RAM to bring the system to a gig? Will there be a noticable improvement? Basically is it worth it?

Also, I read that for the Dual Channel you need to have identical DIMMS, so should I get the 2nd one now why I can still get the exact same product?

for now i'd just stick with 512 unless you REALLY need more ram, which i highly doubt. I kinda regret spending the extra money to go to a gig... even with dual channel it's made almost no difference.

i would keep one stick for now, then in a year or so when you need a little more throw in a second (it will be cheaper then)

Dual channel DDR dsnt make that much of a difference unless you are using integrated graphics.

just monitor how much your using, unless your trying to run battlefield or UT2k3 you probly wont need it. even if you are you still wont need it, but it will mk those levels load quicker.

dont worry to much if the ram isnt exactly the same, but atleast the same speed and CL is good.

It totaly depends on what you use your PC for, if you play alot of memory intensive games, Like BF1942, Sim City 4, Everquest, ect... or use Photo shop, or other memory intensive apps, then having 1 GB of memory will help Big time, but if your a normal user or not a heavy gamer then I'd suggest sticking w/ 512mb as dual channel doesn't make that large a performance diff. unless you are using onboard video

DCDDR make very little difference in amd systems

Stick with the 512, unless u play alot of games and/or have programs open and stuff, if u want could add a 256, but 512 is still pretty good, i always get Kingston RAM

I am running a 512MB stick of Corsair PC3500 and a 512MB stick of Crucial PC2700 in DC at PC2700 speeds on my A7N8X Deluxe and I havent had a problem yet. I would just wait to pick up a second stick as you likely dont need it and prices will probably drop.
