i officially hate computers

i have spent HOURS AND HOURS trying every damn thing imaginable to get the chipset and onboard audio drivers to install for my new motherboard. NOTHING works. i have been on the line with microsoft and gigabyte for hooouuuuuurssss, i have reformatted and reinstalled windows literally 8 times, i have tried installing with windows xp sp1, i have tried installing with sp2, i have tried installing with sp3(multiple times each), i have tried disabling my antivirus first, i have tried installing in safe mode, i have tried installing from the gigabyte drivers dvd, i have tried copying the files from the dvd to my hdd and installing from there, i have purchased a new dvd drive and tried yet again, i have tried downloading the drivers from the gigabyte website and putting them on a flash drive and transferring them to my hdd and installing from there, i have tried installing the drivers in different order, i have tried new cables for every part in my pc, etc. NOTHING WORKS. the driver installation hangs and never finishes, the installation gives me errors, the installation completes and then windows fails to boot to the desktop and just hangs while loading, etc. i cant take it anymore, so i am going to sell this pc and buy a damn pre-built. *end rant*

Make sure your using the XP drivers and not the Vista drivers.

Have you made sure onboard sound is enabled in the bios?

Okay, rant over. If you really want some help, please post your specs and describe your issues.

will do in the future. but for now i need a break from that pc for a good while.

If your using win xp I know for fact there is a hotfix for realtek drivers for onboard audio that keeps it from detecting.Something like a UAA bus drier for high definition audio. Now for chipset drivers you're going to have to tell us what your installing, like what options your selecting and if possible about where it hangs.
You may have better luck installing them separately instead of all together. I may be getting ahead of myself too because you haven't really told us much except how angry you are.
