Right now in Ohio it is pushing 90 degress F where I live. I live in a pretty big house with central air, but I have a computer room on the second floor. This room is probably the hottest in the house. The downstairs stay's at about 67-70 degrees. Upstairs about 75-79 degress, except the computer room which stays about 80-82. This is not good for my o/c'd T-bird. My load temps usually stay between 40-43 degrees C. Right now though I'm pushing 52C. Although I'm not having any stability problems I'm getting nervous. Do you guys think it's time get the delta out? I can't really move to another room.

Lost,

Same problem for me -- I live in Cincinnati and last night was bad (temp-wise) for my OC duron 600 at 900 and my 1 gig tbird at 1400.
The duron is usually at 42C but hit 49 C last night.
The tbird is usually 43C but hit 52C last night.

All of this is due to the ambient temp in my computer room. I am not too worried yet though.

50 degrees C isn't THAT bad, it's not like your gonna start cooking an egg on it or anything. The internal temp of the CPU is rated up to 90 degrees, and while of course the internal temp and the temp your sensor comes up with isn't quite the same, there's no need to be concerned unless your running over 65 at full load really.

Well... probably - these things always depend on your individual config. Safe to say, though - you'll start experiencing stability issues long before the chip turns in a blackened powder. Some people have no problems running at 75 degress C, for others their computer starts to let off steam at around 50.

Stick a bigger fan on - add an air conditioner to the room, or... ("No Idaho! Don't say it!&quot ...you could even lower the voltage and underclock your chip during the really hot days...

*Idaho is strangled by the hardware community for such a hideous suggestion...*
