What is this "Nemesis" of which you speak?

TNG was such a great show. Why did make the transition to such bad movies (First Contact excluded, even though Guinan was very conspicuously missing)?

Oh, and Voyager had its own version of Westley crusher, but this one had big tits.

I don't really get the hate for the movies. I thought they were at least decent, except Nemesis. And even Nemesis had its moments.

I'd give them at least as good of a track record as the TOS movies. I know everyone loves Time Travelin' Whale Quest for some reason but that movie is an abomination.

I find it amusing no one mentioned Enterprise in this whole thread. I sorta kinda liked it a little bit.

I just saw the finale.

I actually haven't seen enough of Enterprise to really judge it. I know it has an incredibly stacked Vulcan chick which makes me think its Voyager all over again. I watched one episode where they tried to retroactively explain why Klingons in TOS didn't have walnut heads...which I thought was an awful idea. Worf's "I don't want to talk about it" was the best way to handle this and then they had to pee in the pool on Enterprise. I do think Scott Bakula is a good actor though and I liked the idea of everyone being afraid of the transporter though...the transporter is actually a pretty ridiculous technology.

TNG was very scattered just like TOS... but episode for episode was better than voyager.

Can we all agree that Q* is one of the best villains in all of Sci Fi, heck, one of the best villains anywhere? I always wondered why the actor who played him didn't do more things. He's such an excellent actor, and he's not type cast because he was in reality only in what, 4-5 episodes of TNG? I've never seen him in anything else.

*Q played by anyone but this guy would not have been as good.

John de Lancie showed up also in the scifi series Andromeda, as Beka's father or uncle or something. I think he's been in everything, pretty much.

i see a lot of parallels between the EMH's storylines and those of commander data... which imo are the 2 most interesting charaters.

they're both good actors that had a lot of writing focused on them. it got pretty repetitive with the doctor, imo.

DS9's characters were dull and boring IMO. The only thing that saved it, IMO, was the Dominion War arc. Otherwise, it couldn't sniff TNG.

O'Brien was just a pubic hair below Nelix as the worst character in the whole Star Trek universe. his acting sucked, his voice was annoying and he sucked as an engineer. he should have been a redshirt and got killed.

I have to agree with the others -- he was kind of whiny and annoying. Picard and Data were the best characters in all of the newer ST series.

She was a whiny bitch all the time. She was in TNG as well, not just DS9.

Anyway, as people have said, DS9 got really good after the Dominion War started (season 4). Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of the episodes in the last 4 seasons of the show deal with the war, while none of the other ST shows have ever had more than two episodes in a row dealing with a single plot. The show has a lot to do with galactic politics and you find out the Federation isn't quite as Utopian as is portrayed in the other series. I don't want to give away too much, but the Federation gives up a lot of their ideals to ensure that the Romulans are on their side in the war against the Dominion. In the end, even the core planets of the Federation, including Earth, aren't safe from the war's reach.

i thought endgame was a great episode... with some additional scenes possibly could have been made into a movie while giving voyager a different serier finale.
