I hate drivers that are so impatient that they don't let a group of pedestrians cross, especially when it's raining. They actually have the right of way dude. They were probably waiting because they could probably tell by the looks of you that you weren't going to stop.
Jaywalking is when someone crosses the street in a place that's not a designated crossing zone. You know.. The hash marks on the pavement usually found at intersections. Some people will just cross anywhere and that's illegal in most places.

So, pedestrians *don't* always have the right of way..like some people here seem to think. In a parking lot, sure..but always? Heck no.
If you hit a person and they sue you, will you more than likely be found guilty no matter what? Heck yes.
