I read about all these items bought from NewEgg and they're all messed up and need to be returned. The site looks cheap and is badly organized too. What do you think?

Newegg is a great site, they ship quickly, and parts are always great, at least as far as what i've gotten from them, and some friends.

I have placed nearly 80 orders with the Egg. Always great prices, fast shipping, and great service.

RMAs and exchanges are very smooth too.

well...i didn't want to say anything, but...

i ordered one of the new zalman heatsinks that bolts onto the mobo hoping to put my new rig together over the weekend. i ordered it on a tuesday-before noon- and i paid the extra 2 or 3 bucks for same day shipping. i got an email comfirming my order and was expecting it to arrive friday.

when it didn't i emailed newegg and explained that i was unhappy about it and they replied that i didn't place my order before noon and that i had ordered it on wednesday instead of tuesday. when i emailed back that they obviously didn't know what they were talking about i got...no reply.

i have bought a bunch of stuff from them in the past but they have lost me as a customer forever.

I just read a lot about defective parts or things not working right and they are ordered from newegg. - or is the radeon line that messed up that it ships with so many defects.

Does newegg make those parts? No. They simply buy them and then sell them. Blame the manufacturers for defects. Probably the reason you see people who have had problems ordered from newegg is because newegg is like one of the biggest places to get parts.

Hey VIAN, what I ordered my LCD from newegg because LCDs are one hundred gazillion times better than CRTs and newegg is the best etailer ever to exist!

....
All of the above is true, but you can't blame me for flaming the guy, he's puttin' down the egg!

Hey I was just asking. I see the evil and I question. Now I have a new question. How many ATI cards are defective. Does nVidia present better quality in this area.

VIAN has been stirring up noise a lot for some reason and this is more of the same. Every retailer merely passes along what others manufacture. If you hear more complaints, it's because they sell more stuff. Law of averages dictates such.

I've had no problem with the 7 or 8 things I've ordered, I've had more trouble with FedEx messing up on delivery, but that's not NewEgg's fault. The one time they missed getting an order out promptly, they gave me a free upgrade on shipping and it all worked out.

The only problem I have with newegg is that they let people write reviews for products that never ordered the product. So you get stupid people saying "Athlon-64 sucks! Intel all the way! Woohoo!" or... "nVidia cheats! ATI rules! w00t!"

Approximately every 1 in 3 ATI card is defective. That's why the Radeon 9800 XT must be released at such a high price point, so they can make up for all the money they lost producing defective cards.

true, but 1 in every 2 nvidia cards is defective. that is why they cost even more.

A lot of people tend to be impatient and greedy tards. We're lazy Americans and we want everything and we want it now, getting it tomorrow is nearly unacceptable let alone in a few days or weeks. I've read endless accounts of users getting their orders in under a week which IMO is pretty amazing, especially when most of them get it in a matter of a few days unless they order too close to the weekend. "They failed to ship me a product in 3 days and therefore they've lost a customer forever." With that kind of attitude I doubt there will be any internet based companies that will benefit from you as a customer. Heck, if you pay extra for faster shipping then I don't know what to say as usually I tend to find it rare that customers (particularly those on this site) who use faster shipping have no dire need for it, as if they need the parts to fix a system so they can finish their taxes online with a day to spare or something absurd like that. Seems to me it's like 99% of the time that users are just too damn impatient to save anywhere from a little to a lot of money by not dishing out extra cash on faster shipping. It's the impatience there. We see something we want and if we decide to buy it we have to have ASAP and if we've already spent our precious money how dare we be kept away from it for a few extra days?

I'd be willing to bet than a large majority of the negative reviews on resellerratings are from customers that were slighted by an unlucky experience out of the control of newegg and their 9.8 rating has to suffer it's .2 loss, lol Seriously though, of all the product reviews I've read on newegg, even the negative reviews usually slam the products and even praise newegg for the excelent service despite the dissapointing product...

Now I don't intend to be pimping newegg if that's what it sounds like, it's just that I've never encountered an experience that has been distasteful and newegg's fault at the same time, from my own purchases and from those of friends, you really can't go wrong with newegg unless you're an impossibly demanding prick or just incredibly unlucky.

I don't think Newegg.com can be beat for ordering computer hardware and parts. They have great prices and shipping is fast and for a lot of items, free. I've always gotten my orders in less than 7 days. On top of all this, I don't have to pay sales taxes like I do locally, which means the low prices become even better! As far as quality, I've had more problems with parts and hardware that I've purchased at the local Frys than I have from Newegg. My latest purchase was a 17" Sony flat screen monitor which I got for $380 + free FedEx shipping. I ordered on Monday morning and had the monitor by noon Thursday. I couldn't have found the same monitor at this great price locally! I always recommend Newegg.com to all my friends and family when they're in the market for computer parts and hardware!

hmmm something must have gone wrong for you iq80..
Whenever I order from newegg... the free fedex saver shipping always sends my package THE NEXT DAY at my door. Yes I do live like 5 miles from newegg, but they still ship fast. Even many times when I order at 3, they have it at my door the next day. I actually don't even really get what you're implying. You said you ordered on tuesday but you didn't get the package on friday as stated by newegg. Well if you said they shipped wednesday with next day air, then don't you think it's FEDEX that screwed up at not NEWEGG?

LOL. I've had great experiences with NewEgg, GoogleGear, and most internet companies I've dealt with. I don't think it's an easy business. First, there are some rather unreasonable expectations placed on orders. I do it too, so I really don't blame others. Second, so many people return merchandise that operates as advertised because they can't get more than what's advertised from the product. So you can't get more than 260FSB from your 2.4C, that does not mean you have defective memory and/or CPU. I think the ratings speak highly of the company, but no place will be perfect.

IQ80, I'm sorry you had a bad experience w/ NE. Just don't buy from them, as I wouldn't should I have probs with them. Neither NewEgg nor GoogleGear actually answer e-mails well. No tech support, they try to minimize costs given the probs with computer part sales. I hope you find a site that you like, but for additional service you would expect an additional cost.

VIAN, are you going to provide some proof or a link to all those bad reviews you've read?
