I Want 2 Play Games!!!

Hey guys check it out.
I just bought Rise of Nations and already have CS. These are the only two games that I wish to play besides getting fresh air and exercise. I have a small system I was going to do this with and was wondering if you guys could suggest a descent video card that would be able to run these two games with no problems. With CS i would like to get at least 80 fps if possible.

Windows XP Pro
Pentium IIIe 500 MHz
256 mg Ram

I dont know dude to get 80 FPS at like 1024x768 you need something very good with that system.

What resolution do you usually run at? If you do 800x600, then a GeForce 3 or Radeon 8500 should be enough. I would definitely upgrade the RAM a little though.

yeah im really hoping. i dont think i will be able too though. isnt fps like a pipeline, it has to be a big pipe from the hard drive all the through the card to get great fps???? right? thats how it was explained to me. someone told me that you would need at least 700 mhz just to get 60 fps.. something like that

For those specific titles, a nice cheap 64mb geforce 4200ti off ebay would do the trick nicely.

ron is heavily cpu dependent for its performance. your processor isn't really going to cut it, let alone ram.

Generally, when a game gives the minimum requirements...well, if you just meet them, you will not like your game experience. If they have a section for recommended requirements - well, try to meet if not exceed these req's. Like, Win95's requirements were something like a 486 with 4MB of RAM. Sure it'll run, but it'll be painful.

when i stated that i have the minium, it wasnt "yeah i know i have the min" it was "i have the min...... sigh!!!!!" I wish i was rich more then ugly!!!!

hah yea the min are rather like a joke. its like saying u can walk to work 5 miles in the snow.... but really would you want to?

oh, if u ever get an upgrade, csrealism.com has been upgraded for steam high poly high texture models for cs makes it look much much nicer!

i know ron is cpu dependent because either anandtech or tomshardware used it as part of their cpu/video card benchmarks.
