I'd take an M3 over an M5 also.
You can afford it. Save $4k every year for the next 10 years and YOU CAN afford it. It sells for about £40'000 but you can get it for £35'000 in the uk.
I was doing some research and you can buy no better car in terms of 0-60 performance then the M3 for the price. You can get cars with mroe BHP but no better 0-60 speed of 5 seconds with 4 seats then the M3. You can get a few TVR's I think that do a better time but I don't think they have 4 seats.
Also the shocking thing is that the next step up the ladder you get are the cars in the range of £60k ish.
For that your looking at the new AMV8 and the 911 Carrea2.
Both with similar performance and also same performance as the M3 for 0-60. They might handle better on a race track but thats not going to happen often for an average buyer.
Of course you get more prestige with the AMV8 and the 911 Carrea2. The Carrea2 has 4 seats though but a smaller boot but the AMV8 has 2 seats and a bigger boot.j
Next up is the 911Turbo that does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds! INSANE.
On yeah no american muscles cars are allowed as I live in the UK and you don't get any of the ZO6 etc. And I MUST get RHD as I wouldn't want to drive a LHD car in England.
Also only nearly new or a few years old and nothing to buy cheap and stick in turbos etc.
