Both buying on release date and till now is no problem.

Found mine within literally 10 minutes of installing this....and then it went back out of stock 5 minutes later. They trickle in, go up for a matter of minutes, then disappear.

Dammit, NVIDIA, why is it so hard to nab a 680? GRRR.

Patience and persistence pay off. I found mine at J & Rs in NY via Amazon. If you want to stay with Newegg you are going to have to be patient, check constantly and be lucky. I opted to go another route and got mine @ 2 weeks ago. Paid more but got it.

If you have read about this at all, it seems everyone wanted a GTX 680 until the GTX 670 came out. Now both are in demand. I think that since the 670 is a slightly "detuned" 680 it might be more plentiful due to yields at present. Hopefully the foundry will ramp up production.

My advice? Check alternative sources (Amazon) and jump on the first one you can find. DO NOT rely on Newegg's "Auto notify" They are swamped with requests.

I get the argument because it applies to almost any video card. Overclock it and you will almost always get the same performance of one model above it. It conveniently forgets that the upper model is also capable of overclocking.

which version/model is best to look for at this point? I'm considering just taking the plunge on a 670 instead. If I do which one should I look for? prob won't OC it much but there's always the possibility...
