Which one would u choose if you wanted to paly fps, or counter-strike??

P.S. Just choose one please, Im sick of all the explantion, just give me what card you would get...i ve read some post on this topic and i was like wtf, which one is it?!!! They have so many crap written in it, I KNOW YOU KNOW YOUR SMART IN VIDOE CARDS...and i dont care, so give me just the bones...which one??

If your a big Counter-Strike fan like me, then a Voodoo 5 with 4X FSAA does wonders. It makes things much clearer.

OMG the V5 FSAA was MADE for counterstrike. Games like that have a HUGE noticeable effect (as opposed to fast FPS like Q3 where you don't have the time to pause and appreciate the FSAA).

I'm straight, and here is my answer: The 5500 is very nice for CS, but the GF2 and Radeon would be as well. All 3 cards are plenty fast enough for CS. The 5500 is kinda too sweetly priced right now, so I recommend it. Heck, I just bought one for that very reason.

Just a question, why just for CS?

Counterstrike is 16-bit. Radeon doesn't like 16-bit. GTS is faster than 5500, but you'll maintain 99 fps with either a 5500 or a GTS. That leaves FSAA and 16-bit image quality, both of which the 5500 is better in.

um robo, voodoo5 isnt any worse than the other two cards for CS, but i didnt see any of those "radeon doesnt like 16bit" sitations with me forcing my HL to run in 32bit mode. maybe it doesnt offer any signnifcant boost in image quality, but i never observed those supposedely hideous texture glitches. (in fact i am yet to see anything like that on my radeon, maybe cuz i dont play older games all that much). FSAA on radeons for the moment sux IMO, but it hardly matters in CS... cuz I DONT CAMP IN CS! I AM A CAMPERKILLA MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Seriously though, If I played only FPS and Counterstrike, I would buy a Voodoo 5500.

counterstrike , get a v5. (i've got a v4, had a v5, its beautiful). UT and q3 i'd get a radeon. Dont buy a gts, if you do anything besides gaming. If you only game, then i'd probably get a gts over the radeon for ut and q3a since its cheaper and a little faster.
