If you had to decide........

I am going to be building a new system soon, and want to upgrade my current pc for my girlfriend. It is a micro-ATX i810 board with NO agp slot.
The guy at the pc shop where I usually go when I get in over my head said there is no micro board with an agp slot. Low and behold I just happened to find several. Along with a new computer shop.
My first choice I think will be the aopen MX3SP with the intel 815 chipset. Then I ran into other boards with the VIA Apollo Pro 133 pro chipset.
Thats my question, which chipset is better? She is going to be doing some Alice type games. I have been struggling with a Voodoo4 4500 PCI card for almost a year, but have recently upgraded to a geforce2 MX400 card. Not much in the way of performance from either one. I know the motherboard is probably whats coming up short, so I want to change that.

Whatcha think? Can you help me?

I'm not suprised about the MX's performance. They perform very poorly on the PCI bus, so I'm not supirsed at all. About 815vsVIA 133A, 815 all da way! 133A is slower and has no features really over 133A. I'd take 815. You won't be sorry.

Thanks Athlon4all, I am leaning a little harder toward the 815 set now. I am hoping to be able to overclock it. It says on the web page that it has.........oh here it is "CPU clock ratio from 1.5X to 12.0X". I'm just a newbie so I take that as I can o'clock it. Yes? Here's the board in question.

Well, the CPU ratio is useless on P3/Celeron because Intel CPU's are multiplier locked. I'd see what kind of fsb settings that board has. That and CPU Voltage. But don't get excited, Intel CPU's aren't the best overclockers because their multiplier locked.

I am glad you told me that. I just flashed my bios because the update said "Added CPU multiplier ratio from 8.5x to 12.0x". Then I go into the bios and it was still gray. I thought I downloaded the wrong update or something.
The new board says it supports 66/100/133. I ran the Intel CPU ID utility and it said my FSB was at 133. Let me ask you this, since it says 133, would it be benificial for me to replace my 100mhz ram with 133? Or am I still too green to think I have something figured out finally?
