You may want to check to see if you are getting a lot of activity in a file:

windows\system32\logfiles\wmi\trace.log

I found this by getting a "disk full" error and found this file was over 4GB. The amount of disk activity was also affecting my system's performance.

The easiest way to check is to re-open BootVis and look under the Trace menu to see if you can select Stop Tracing. If so, select it and you should notice your disk activity drop dramatically (my drive's not the quietest in the world and I could hear the difference).

If anyone else is having this problem, reply and I'll post the registry hack that Microsoft Tech Support sent me to fix it (great dude named Damon at MS stayed with me for 2 weeks troubleshooting this!).

My trace file is 49 MB. is this normal? Also, when I tried to open it, all I get is the cursor hour glass and nothing ever shows up. Any help uninstalling bootvis would be appreciated.
