Yeah, if your driving from Maryland, it's one hour. From No. Virginia, it's 30 minutes or less. The mall is only about 13 - 15 miles south of the 495 beltway. >>



Yikes!.. all of maybe 5 minutes for me... but then again.. everything around here is 5 minutes away.

how does the prices compare to walmart/sam's club/costco furniture?

ikea furniture sucks. guess you get what you pay for. i paid $200(not exactly cheap) for a dining table, that POS is so light that when i sneeze, it moves a few inches. and i had to assemble it too.

Xfile : Costco or Sams club or BJ are wholesale retailers . They make Volume sale and make profit. Hmm similar to Car sales.
But IKEA is slightly different : Its basically a sweedish shop with lot of variety and pbly new style.
Bit expesnive sometimes. Mostly peices are to be assembled.
Oh do not forget the coupons ---

What did they tape weights to the bottom of the display to fool you? and in the box you loaded into your car?

I have purchased a lot of Ikea furniture and love every piece I have. It has lasted over the years and I love the prices. Everything you buy now a days requires assembly but still has the same high price. Ikea makes you feel like you get a deal for the work you do putting it together.

ok.....

ikea has nice stuff, we have an old soft that's quite old.. the one that was replaced actually.. it's in our basement now.

Anyway, 15 miles off 495 is one thing, but getting off 495 to the 95 south exit... oh my... gotta take the alternate inside route

For those who live in the greater DC area, I think the Baltimore, MD store is closer (timewise). Can't stand the traffic at the spaghetti junction of 495/95. Few weeks ago got several stainless steel shelves for my kitchen for about $9 each- these things are like $100+ at restaurant supply shops! Cool looking, solid, and inexpensive.

Plus, love them swedish meatballs. Just wish the Swedish Bikini Team would stop by sometime...

true to the fact that some IKEA stuff may not be pleasing to your taste.
But many seem to like it though.
Most of the International buyers go more often there as they get Tax free discounts.
In fact they do not have a sale like Walmart or K-mart but they tag their price with RED
when they mark it down.
Depends what exactly are you looking for---

Keep visiting more often to get good prices.

baltimore is further and smaller than woodbridge for me I'm waiting to see what the college park one will turn out to be.
