Ok so the product in the following article is basically a scam:

However, it did get me thinking about how a properly fleshed out version of this technology, an AI with your image basically trained on everything about you would fare.

Could it be used for grief counseling? How about people "communing" with prior generations? Would it ever get good enough to "fool" people you know into thinking it's you? At what point would the immitation be just as good as the real thing?

Possible in our lifetime? Maybe. Terribly frightening? Absolutely.

She then is unable to move on and even as she ages she keeps his still youthful robot in the attic as a vibrator?

I mean, while the themes are there BM tends to do stuff more salaciously for the views rather than really panning out and taking a more rounded approach on a topic.

This wouldn't be a robot obviously, and given the rapid advance in "impersonation" AI I do wonder if a company would be able to make a reasonably accurate version of you by simply scraping all the personal information about you that goes out on the internet. Scrape Facebook, Twitter, tick tock, the AT Forums, wherever a person's digital signature is an built a simulacra.

Might get better results if a person willingly undergoes a battery of tests and conversations to train the AI, but you could even potentially ressurect someone after they've died thanks to all the info we shed.
