Improper reading of 12v rail?

I've got the following setup going:

MSI Neo4 Platinum
Athlon 64 3000+ Venice
Hitatchi 160GB SATA2 HD
NEC 2510A
Samsung DVD-ROM
eVGA 6800GT
PCI Fan
System Fan
XClio 450w Power Supply

My PSU has dual +12v rails.

Bios has the +12 reading around +12.2 volts

MSI PC Alert has it going at 2.10 and the alarm goes off.

My system is totally stable...does that mean MSI's utility is just not reading it right? Thanks

My PSU has two blue molex connectors, and I'm not using them. I figured maybe they were fan only.

Grab a multimeter, test the 12 volt line. If it's high then the software is right, if it's right on the money then turn the software off

Think about it. If the 12v rail was really at 2v, do you honestly believe your computer would run?

My MSI K7N2 did the exact same thing. Everest read it as 1.9-2.1v.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think those are for optical drives, so they can operate and play CDs even when the system is off.

Never mind, it appears I was thinking of a different brand. I don't think they serve any particular purpose other than being easily identifiable.
