IN SERIOUS NEED OF HELP!!!

Hey, im new here, the name's Rebel187, but y'all can call me Reb. Anyways, Im not sure where to post this, but I hope im accurate enough. Here it goes:

ok, so listen. this is what happens: about two monthsafter i buy my computer, it begins to freezes the web brosers temporarily. ok, i didn't mind that. then, i got this viruys called CODERED.C, but it doesn't do anything, since i got updated before it did anything. Still, it screws up some of my downloaded files by adding size to it. I didn't mind, ok, its ok. Now, all of a sudden, last friday, i try to open up "My Computer" and it freezes everything! I can move the mouse, but no programs respond!!! When I start up my comp, this program is running called IEEXPLORER.EXE, its not doing anything, but when it is there, this pop up comes up called InfoBlast.info!!! I don't know what is going on with my comp, its all messed up now. Some friends told me to reformat and they told me i will lose everything If i dont back up my files. I want to know how to reformat, and i know i have to use these system recovery and application recovery CD's.

My questions are: How do I reformat? How do I back up my files? Can I back up my ISP too so I dont have to go through installation and connection? If possible, can I back up everything I got on my desktop?

Im sorry, I guess what I am truly asking for is someone could write me up some instructions to reformatting. I don't want to lose any of my files, and im sure they're not infected or anything. They're not really files, but programs that are clean from viral infection.

Well, since your computer has become infected with what appears to be a couple of viruses, backing up your data at this point may be a bad idea. Your first step is to install an antivirus program, update the definition files, and scan/clean your hard drive.

It sounds like you also have some spyware installed on your computer. Spyware are small programs installed usually without your knowledge. Many file-sharing apps install spyware as well. Download Adaware or Spybot and clean up your system.

follow what MrChad says to do, hes got you on the right track. i dont understand why you werent more alarmed when you got the first virus. you sound as though you thought that it was ok and over with and it wasnt a big deal....id be a tad bit more concerned if my file downloads all the sudden had size added onto them as you claim.

personally, I'd format and re-install everything, after windows is loaded and you can get your isp connected the VERY 1ST THING TO DO is to update windows with all the critical updates. restarting as needed. install your antivirus next and update it's definitions, then after you run a full scan with your updated definitions install anyother software you have. (including the suggested spybot and/or adaware)

Before I did anything drastic I would run spybot as suggested and the newest version of cwshredder you can find.
