I am not a fan of sending thousands of people pictures in an E-mail. It just clogs up the email server which has to store all those photos. They could at least store the photo one time and use a link.

That was a dumb move by that person, but it sounds great for you since people are replying. Pull up the lawn chair and enjoy the show

I like him cause I'm from TN and a big fan of Law & Order, but when it comes to the real issues, he's another Republican puppet. In the earlier days of his campaign he was caught off-guard and didn't seem to know much about what's going on in the world. He's been briefed by his campaign managers since, but it just goes to show that he's winging it and trying to win the same way the other actors win, on popularity from their acting careers.

I like Obama, but doubt he'd win by himself. A winning combination for the Dems would be John Edwards for President and Barack Obama for Vice president.

Ron Paul is my vote on the Republican side. He's the only guy that isn't jumping on the bandwagon and that's what America wants right now.

that's pretty inappropriate...

as far as I'm concerned, all discussions of politics and religion are pretty much verboten the second my foot passes the threshold into the office.

Inappropriate I agree, but anyone that says the person should be fired is off their rocker. A writeup and a reminder maybe, but losing their job over something this trivial and stupid is retarded

Someone from one of our sister companies sent out an email to every email account for every company.
The email has a picture with the following text:

"Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.

Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name)......the article said he REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....how in the hell can a man like this expec t to be our next Commander-in-Chief????"

The person that sent it went ahead and made a comment in his forward that said:

"If this photo is real I hope, it, does not receive a dime from your fund"

I don't think the emailer is going to have a job very much longer. Way to let everyone know your policitcal view.
I could see if you were forwarding something to a few people, but to do a corporate wide all employee email. HA!

And now people are sending reply all emails. I love it.

yeh, no one should be sending their political views around the office like that, but i will say that the story/image appears to be true.

I don't blame him for not holding his hand to his heart, the way that woman butchered the national anthem in the video at the bottom. He should have held both hands over his ears.

I would agree if it was some dumb spam message. But when they not only sent a political message and ALSO their opinion they probable broke a lot of rules of the company.
Now if this is some low level employee then they will probable get a slap. But someone with power will probable get the can

I work for a state university. When i first started there there was a HUGE pressure put on us about how we have to be impartial to political stuff, how political emails will not be tolerated, how political signs should not be displayed.
Then this week I get the email : "UNLV will be hosting a Democratic presidential Debate" - so nov 13th the campus will turn into democrat central with multiple events staged around democratic candidates But i guess it finally balances out all the Ron Paul ReLOVEution posters all over campus.

Well there a difference between hosting and saying you don't/do support XYZ person because... See if this person sent this out like in a way asking then there might be a little less pressure on them. But sending it and adding don't give this person money or your time crossed the line even more so. they can't claim being a idiot and not knowing.

Now if UNLV sent out something that said we are supporting democrats by having them here and want you to join us by suppoting dem's and not republicans... then yea that would cross the line there.

Thank god there are a few people out there who don't buy into sensationalist bullshit like this email. I completely agree josh, who gives a shit if he doesn't put his hand over his heart? We should judge him based on his ideas, his character, and his plan for running the country, not on whether he puts his hand on his heart, does the hokey-pokey, or plays poker every Tuesday.

Like usual, however, the vast majority of our population is going to get up in arms about this one issue and ignore what really matters in a candidate. This crap is so old, and so stupid, and the saddest part is that people will really not vote for him because of something as trivial as not putting his hand over his heart.*

*that being said, I'm not a huge supporter of his. I just think that every candidate should be judged based on their leadership qualities, not these peripherals.

I care a great deal and so should you. Those peripherals as you call them are part of a persons ideas, character, plan and leadership qualities.

ha.. reminds me of the time a few years when one of my whacked-out, right-wing christian religious cousins emailed our ENTIRE family(big mexican family) and her "cell" (their term not mine), telling us to support the Amendment to the TX Constitution banning gay marriage.

I let her, and all her nutbag friends have it. man, what a shitstorm that became.. it was great.

Yea putting your hand over your heart shows that so well. That should be the test for whom i vote for. Forget about the honest person that is a good leader, lets vote for the person that gets the best photo shots.

Watch the video on that link. I might not put my hand over my heart either, given how the person singing slaughtered the anthem.

Christ, I've heard some bad versions - that one really ranks with the worst.

We've adopted a voluntary rule for these emails, and shockingly, most people follow it without it being official. Put "PTI" at the front of the email. Users can make a filter and never see them again... it's worked out well, even with an office of about 300.

For a person running for Commander-in-Chief and leader of the free world not putting his hand over his heart during our NATIONAL Anthem shows a great deal of lack of character and leadership.

If this is the standard for getting elected, this country is truly doomed. Is this a nation of 5 year olds or something?

Yup, they'll be fired for abusing that mass-mailing list. That happened where I work a while back (well, no political message, but someone sent an E-mail to everyone) and we ended up having 3 of 5 E-mail servers go down from the load of morons who responded by replying to all. I had something like 150 E-mails in 5 minutes before the server I was on went down. At least one person was fired and several were severely reprimanded.

Political comments aside (not that I would have any), this reminds me of when I worked in a call center. I was playing around with the net send command in DOS to talk to the cute girl in the cubicle across from me (they had blocked all other forms of instant messaging). I ended up getting careless and I accidentally sent a multicast message that went out to every workstation in our subnet, and it even managed to go to workstations on other out-of-state networks for the company. My manager said the message popped up on at least 500 computers. If he hadn't had a good sense of humor, I would've been fired on the spot.

If I'm the CEO or a VP of the company, I wouldn't want someone stupid enough to send a mass email like that working for me.
