Are you a liar or ignorant of how the Senate works? Or as it appears, both? The last filibuster was 2 years ago.

The goal of self defense should be to stop the threat.-nvm that .22s are lethal, and 9mm is actually a small pistol round, and generally the goal of self defense is to kill the person attacking you, not flesh wounds.
What the traitorous fucks say and what the traitorous fucks do are two very different things. Not true.
GOP concerns remain key obstacle in congressional gun talks - CNNPolitics
So there are state issues involved, too.
Greg Abbott already did that. Let's say you turn all schools into armed prisons, what are you going to do with all the soft kid friendly targets around town?
Gonna imprison, playgrounds, grocery stores, day cares, toy stores, libraries, movie theaters, amusement parks, sports arenas? If you can't imprison them to the same level you just did schools will you close them all?
Did I leave anything out?
Folks, I just spent most of yesterday, 12 hours, sitting in the ER with my sister waiting for a doctor to see my sister. And this is the major hospital in a major capital city of a major midwestern state.
So believe me when I say, we're all living in a third world nation plain and simple.
Add this to the subject of this thread, guns and gun violence, and there you are. Truly a third world nation indeed.
What more proof do you need?
Proof... in that we vote for insurrectionist? That we applaud the overthrowing of our own government? That our morals are turned upside down with terrorist running for elected office THEN actually get elected?
Yep. Third world nation, folks.
Third would countries really don't care about their children, which is obvious when our own elected terrorist insurrectionist officials prefer assault weapons over children.
Third world. That's the number three followed by the words world nation. That means we are not number one, we are number three. Number three in more ways than I can explain. But you know this already... We all know this already....
Whatever you say chief. What the traitorous fucks say and what the traitorous fucks do are two very different things.
You just called out for posting more misinformation about the filibuster. How about just admitting that you didn't have the facts, again.Whatever you say chief.
Apparently, insofar as enough evidence exists to study (and apparently it's a tough topic to study because such shootings are _relatively_ infrequent events), it's also been found that the presence of armed guards does nothing to prevent mass shootings.
Research: On-campus cops do not prevent school shootings
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has blamed others for politicizing the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, to advance discussionswww.politifact.com
Academic study linked to in above
It's even been suggested it might make such shootings _more_ likely because the visible presence of armed officers in schools helps keep the idea active in potential shooters' heads.
Nothing that you claimed is in any of those articles, except the 1000% tax, which wasn't proposed by Biden or Beto as you claimed, and it isn't for all guns.
So you are about at a 3.7% accuracy with your claims.
Better than 0% I guess.
I asked you for links to back your claims. You come back with just "Nope" when you ask me for links?!
If you don't think this is correct, you prove what their true positions are.
They've said exactly that. Everyone watched Betos "hell yes I'm taking your guns" primary debate. He backed off of it for the Texas gov race, and now he's back to a ban position. He then crashed the press conference and pointed his finger at the stage and blamed the gov for the shooting. Then he went to Houston NRA convention and joined the fracas down there and the familiar signs of "blood on your hands" etc etc and urged protestors to "get in their faces before another child is shot."
Biden has actually waxed poetically over the years about using shotguns for home defense, and how terrible 9mm pistols are.
The fuck is wrong with you. I seem to remember you used to be well tethered to reality. Now you sound like the average Fox News ditto head. You come back with just "Nope" when you ask me for links?!

The worst mass shooting was 32 killed and 17 wounded (not counting gunman) at Virginia Tech. He had 2 semi-auto pistols.
The last filibuster was 2 years ago.
Wrong quiz kid. Stop getting your information from Tucker Carlson. Look at these list of weapons and tell us how many are just handguns. We haven't even broached the subject of magazine size. People killed was double the number you listed. The worst mass shooting was 32 killed and 17 wounded (not counting gunman) at Virginia Tech. He had 2 semi-auto pistols.

The way the filibuster works now is a member emails the majority leader of their intent to filibuster the upcoming measure. So as to not waste the senate’s time they usually just move on if they don’t have 60 votes as you say.Maybe the last "official" filibuster, but the threat of one along with procedural rules has prevented many cloture votes from even being attempted.
@blackangst lives to play word games here. The pattern is sad and tiring. The way the filibuster works now is a member emails the majority leader of their intent to filibuster the upcoming measure. So as to not waste the senate’s time they usually just move on if they don’t have 60 votes as you say.
I don’t see the purpose in playing word games to pretend this is not a filibuster.
Polls are pretty clear - people want guns out of the deluded idea that they are safer for owning one. Only the true gun nuts own them for the purpose of overthrowing the government if it becomes tyrannical.Ronald Reagan addresses the NRA in 1983. This was about 2 years after he was almost assasinated.
He quotes the US constitution: The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." This IS the core issue, correct. I can see why its so hard to get any gun laws passeed, because many Americans will look at it as a threat to our democracy. I don't know what the answer is. Guns are as American as apple pie it would seem.
Those "overthrowing tyrannical government" fantasies are particularly deranged given that history has shown that most violent revolutions end with another dictator in charge.Polls are pretty clear - people want guns out of the deluded idea that they are safer for owning one. Well that and their view of a 'tyrannical government' being 'one run by Democrats'.Those "overthrowing tyrannical government" fantasies are particularly deranged given that history has shown that most violent revolutions end with another dictator in charge.
