Indiana Jones VS James Bond

indiana jones was trained as an archaeologist, james bond was trained as a secret agent. how on earth could jones beat bond? he might get a punch or two in, but i'd be surprised. jones is just good at good old fashioned fisticuffs, bond is like a multi black belt. there's no contest.

and ffmcobalt: indiana jones is supposed to be from the 1940s. bond is current even up to 2002. how does that make jones "new age?" and where were you in that different religions marriage thread?!? you could have at least dropped a word or two in. :|

Indiana Jones all the way. Sure, Bond is cool and all, but he's too "European" for me Indiana Jones takens on Nazis all by himself with a whip and his hat. James Bond takes on great bad guys and all, but he does it with a whole government behind him, numerous guns, expensive cars, wearing a tux and hardly ever mussing his hair. Bond needs a missle to take out a helicopter with a saw, Jones takes out a tank with a rock. It all comes down to different styles. I view myself as more of the Indiana Jones style than the James Bond style, so I'm going to have to go with Jones

if you read the Bond books, you know Bond is as tough as any character out there. in nearly every book, he ingests impossible amounts of drugs and alcohol and food, wakes up the next day with a hangover, then goes out to save the world. but he always gets caught by the bad guys and is forced to go through impossible physical trials of torture or endurance to save the day. they didn't do a lot of that in the movies cause it was too gruesome. in casino royal, he sits on a chair with a hole cut for his balls, and they whip them to torture him. any man that saves the day after that is THE MAN.
