inexpensive water cooling kit

Watercooling is not really for budget people though. Crappy water cooling is worthless.. make sure you get it right the first time, or you have a kit that is modular and easily upgradable

I just got a Kingwin AWC-1 for 100 bucks It actually works pretty darn good. You can get it from Newegg, ZipzoomFly, and Xoxide. I think ZZF has the best deal on it though.

Actually that does look descent, what are your temps/noiselevels like with it?

Well I actually forgot to put the unit's Thermal diode on the water block so i'm not exactly sure I belive to pump actually increases pressure depending on the temp so right now it is reading my system temp haha instead of CPU. I plan on fixxing it this weekend... Anyways according my Motherboard I max out at 49C under full load with prime. This is a 13C drop from before... with a vcore of 1.66 on my A64 @ 2450. Also the GPU maxes out at 60C compared to 81C before. So I have gotten a bit highier OC out of that.

It has been quite warm lately so I'm sure that helps the temps get up there. I have the 2nd radiotor on low so I could probably get the temps down a bit more if I cranked it up but then it gets a bit louder to almost screaming loud lol. On low setting it is very quiet. I can still hear it though as my case is pretty quiet with all my fans running on low speed and the new PSU that I have that is (inaduble* sp?).

All the reviews I have seen of it give it atleast 9/10.

I personally had a little bit of trouble getting the GPU and CPU blocks on it but it just came down to brute force bending the clips enough to fit haha.

I haven't gotten to play with it very much though as I have been working ALOT so I can give you more details once I really get to use it more.

DON'T GET THIS THING!!! I just saw water drip off the CPU block and on to the AGP slot!!! I hope I can save the precious GT in time!!!

I guess you get what you pay for. I think I will be sticking with AIR cooling until I get a decent amount of money for something good....

If you are interested in putting one together yourself you can get far better performance for the same price.
-D-Tek has their TC-4 on sale for $25.
-D-Tek has clearflex 60 1/2" tubing for a reasonable price (you'll need about 10'.) so that's about $15.
-And D-Tek has a "T" fitting for filling and bleeding. This is cheaper than a reservoir and just as good or better. $1.
-The CSP-750 from D-Tek is a great pump. $36.
-A chevette heatercore (radiator) costs about $20. at an autoparts store. 1/2" tubing will fit. You need to heat the tubing in hot water to help it stretch. Or you could get a "scratch and dent" pro core at D-Tek for a similar price. That way it has 1/2" barbs on it for the tubing.
That's $97. plus tax and shipping for an excellent watercooling system.
If you don't have a 120mm fan you'll need one.
A shroud for the heatercore helps quite a bit. You can make one from sheetmetal or tupperware. There's tupperware that fits the chevette heatercore perfectly. You just cut the hole for the fan.
You'll need a handful of screw-drive hose clamps which can be had from any hardware store. They're cheap.
This system would be very high quality and super reliable. Much safer than a cheap kit.

Water drips off of the CPU block for three reasons. 1: you didn't tighten the fittings enough, 2: it's an incredible humid week here at least, so you're probably getting condensation on the CPU block, place some carpenter's chalk around it to keep th moisture from collecting on it, or 3: It's cracked somewhere. The third is highly unlikely. Don't bash a system if you aren't sure if it isn't user error.

pelikan, your url is correct but the link puts you at a DVD player . Great info though, I might go water cooling myself, they're a heck of a lot cheaper than dangerden

Oops. Link fixed, thanks for pointing that out.
Condensation won't form unless the water is below ambient. A watercooling system doesn't bring water even to ambient temps so condensation isn't an issue.

I'm 100% sure it wasn't condensation because it was orange colored the same as the my water... Also i'm 100% sure it didn't NOT come out of the hoses. I can take pics of EXACTLY where the water came from when I get home. On this piticular block there are slits on all 4 corners of it and it definatly came from the lowest left corner slit which I have no control over on the instillation... I am about 100% positice it has a crack somewhere inside the block which I could take a part as there are 4 screws you can take off but would void the warrenty I think.

or just get it replaced...did you run it to check for leaks for 24-48hrs before putting it in your system first?
