I have an old Dell Inspiron 3000 that has a P 233 w/MMX and was curious of people's thoughts on upgrading it to possibly run windows xp and do something other than just word processing (it barely does that now)
I did some research and a P2 or Celeron processor can be easily had for < $50 that is about 333-366 Mhz, having 256 meg of ram is not really that big of an issue either.
From what others say the processor speed cannot go above 400 mhz because of heating and it just involves reflashing the bios to the 3200 and replacing the cpu and slapping in some more ram.
Is it worth investing the money? Any thoughts or advice? Thanks
