inspiron 8500 and dvi

I've got an inspiron 8500 with an NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 Go that only has vga. i just bought the dell 2405 lcd and wondered if I could replace the card with one that supported dvi video. Does anyone know if that upgrade is possible?

Doubtful ... very few Inspirons had upgradable modules available, and I don't think anything that old would have a DVI port.

What about buying from a third party. or do you think the dell wouldn't take the card?

Well a poster over at dell just told me it ain't gonna happen. Does anyone know of a Dell Laptop (or other) that offers a card with dvi video out? Thanks.
