Hi
Just ordered Intel X25-V 40gb SSD today @ $125.97 CAN
read 170 mb/s write 35 mb/s
Going to use it for boot drive only ( operating system + 1 or 2 applications )
I realize that there are other SSD's for less money such as:
Kingston SSDNow V series SNV125-S2/30gb @ $89.95 CAN read 180 mb/s and write 50 mb/s
OCZ Vertex Series OCZSSD2-1VTX30GXXX 30gb @ $139.99 CAN
read 230 mb/s write 135 mb/s
I do not know why Intel SSD write speeds seem low compared to others ( Intel X25-E series write speed is 70 mb/s for 80gb, 100 mb/s for 160gb )
test reports are good for Intel SSD's in general - any comments re: write speeds?
I decided on the Intel X25-V because I like idea of SSDtoolbox software for their drives
