FFS just ignore this damn troll and stopping arguing with him already, it's pointless. And lock this thread too.

"Thanks to the death of NetBurst, Conroe will feature a 5x increase in performance per watt. Here's to the death of the power-hungry Intel processor.

Intel also set power consumption targets for the next-generation of systems based on these new 65nm processors:"

Yep, and it uses significantly less watts to accomplish the task therefore performance wont be 5x that of the old netburst P4's.

Simply because i dont know the exact numbers, lets say a pentium M has 3x more performance per watt than a pentium 4E. It wont run 3x faster because to accomplish that extra performance per watt they needed to lower the clock speed. Yes? that clicking in? I really hope so...

Yes. Also, I am sick of Intelia quoting inquirer articles about how good Intel is GOING to be. Fact is, they have nothing except the pentium M right now, and with Turion, at least AMD has something to compete with it.

Now were back on track . Ok soviet the best way is 3xmerom over dothan since they run at about the same watts you than have to take into accout its dual core. that still leaves 1x better performance than dothan I don't see it as 1 x though its really 2x if you multiply someting by 1 you get that same something so i call it 2x
Than you have to take and divid that by 2 so you end up with 50% better performance than dothan . and that makes sense beings a single core yonah is said to be 30% faster than dothan

Btw, the 5x power consumption thing is just pure marketing. We'll see how performance is compared to what AMD has to offer when the new Intel chips come out.

Do Intel pay you to go onto popular tech forums and spout propeganda? If so, i want a job too, ill terrorize toms hardware.

Ya, those slides are not benchmarks to swear your life by, they are marketing. But i do believe that Intels new architecture CPU's will be superior to the A64's Amd has on offer when they are released due to them having been around for two years and Intels new toy is brand new, built from the ground up.
