Intel D925XCV board problems

Okay, after having this same problem with the Asus A8V a few months ago and throwing the board out because we couldn't get it to work and Asus and the vendor were no help (anyone want to buy a 3800+ cheap?) I am now having the same problems with this board, and am beginning to think I am cursed.

Here is the rig (all parts are new unless so stated):

Case: OmniTech (now BuyMPC) desktop (used)
PSU: Antec 550 TruePower
CPU: Intel 3.46GHz EE
RAM: 4 - Apacer DDRII PC4300 1GB
HDD: 2 - WD 250GB SATA (SATA0 and SATA1)
Video: ATI Radeon X800 PCI-E
CD and FDD (used)

Okay, I put all these components in the box, started it up, and not a peep out of it. No video, no error beeps. Nothing.

I have checked the power to the ATI, and this seems to be good. I have not tested the power in the line and have an Antec 480 I can use for drill.

There is a DVI out and a DB15 out on the ATI, and I have connected a cable to both.

I can't even get into the BIOS. I have had a professional tech breathe on it, and he can't get it to do anything either.

Any ideas?

Assemble the system 'open' if you think it's the case. It could only be the case if something is getting grounded out.

If your a tech, have you metered all the power leads for volt?

Try just one mem module. Don't hook any drives up. You should still be able to enter the BIOS.

Do you even get any POST beeps? If not, then my first choice would be to try another psu. If still no luck, then either your mobo or the cpu might be bad. If you have a back-up P4 try that.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

ps Go back to AMD, Intel is leading us gamers down the wrong path.

Well...

The other tech built the system on a counter, which is what I am doing right now.

I am going to use the other power supply, no drives and two DIMMs, first.

I don't have any other CPUs with this pinless system.

And what is the DEAL with that heat sink! Plastic push-through conntectors that won't all seat at the same time without warping the board (The CPU IS installed properly and seated flat.)

From what I have read, the new pinless system Intel has drudged up is total CRAP! I have installed many pinned Intel cpu's and never bent a one. Eff Intel. I'm going AMD with my new system.
