Internet Connection Sharing in Win2k

I have a win2k machine with two NICs, one connected to the adsl modem with static ip address, and one connected to the hub.

Now there're two computers that are hooked up to the hub also. Both of them can get the shared files and everything from each other, BUT the internet doesn't seem to be working.

This happened like out of the blue, because it worked for about a few minutes then suddenly stopped.

Can anyone tell me what is going on? Oh BTW, there is this red flashing on the hub that says collision, that might be the problem. How would I fix it? I am using a linksys hub

Well, I don't know what you've tried to do since it stopped working, but if it was working at one point just try rebooting all the machines, starting with the ICS machine. When I used ICS in Win2K it would take awhile for the connected machines to get internet access, so after you reboot them just leave them running for a bit.

About the red flashing light, collisions are a bad thing, but totally normal. They happen all the time, and probably isn't a problem.

Or, you could download Sygate from download.com and install it on the machine w/ win2k and the two NICs so it acts as the router. In my experience, I've found that Sygate is a lot faster than Win2k's ICS, but if you find that ICS works fine, keep it. Though, mcveigh is right, buy a router and be lazy
