Internet Diconnecting

Hi, Recently i have been having problems with my internet. More specifically, I get disconnected when i visit a particular site. I would be play a game, surfing the web, chatting on Aim and once i hit some particular website everything stops working, I cant connect to anything, though if i had torrents running, it would still be dling, and if i was playing an online game, it would still be working, except that now my Firefox, aim and other stuff arnt. According to my computer im still connected to the internet. Is there some kind of vulnerability in my computer that is causing this cause my friends have no problems with the sites that tend to disconnect me, and yes it is particular sites.

what antivirus/firewall are you running? Have you scanned for spyware?

some norton symantec antivirus and firewall. I think that might be the problem now that you mentioned it. I tried with it disabled and the websites work fine.

I dont mean to be rude when i say this, but any consumer grade norton product since 2001 has sucked hard. Your best bet is to remove it completely and load a decent firewall and antivirus

I would be quite interested in the sites that make your system lose connection. Can you PM me a link to the sites that do it? They may be running exploits to try to infect your computer, which maybe I can research what's going on.

If you want to try an extra security checkup, here are a couple things to start off with:

F-Secure online scanner (use Internet Explorer to run this scanner, since it's ActiveX-based)

Secunia online vulnerability checkup (checks to see if you have commonly-targeted vulnerabilities, and helps you get them fixed)
