Roadrunner has a monopoly on cable internet services here. They are the fastest for downstream data, upload is capped at 256kbps. I can get downloads of 200 kilobytes / s easily from north american servers, and with concurrent filesharing connections have even been higher, up to 400 kilobytes/sec total. And that's during peak hours. Though of course, all depends on whos sharing the pipe in the local area with you. DSL is available from various providers and it's a bit cheaper but downstream noticeably slower than cable. And of course dialup is dialup. Never heard of satellite being used by anyone here, don't even think it's available. If you're on Oahu, roadrunner is available EVERYWHERE so you're in luck.
