Just got back from seeing it in IMAX. I think my local IMAX theatre needs to adjust their speaker settings because it was so loud that some of the sounds were getting distorted.
As for the movie? Wow... it's hard to explain just how expansive this movie was. The closest movie I can think of would be Contact. If you were a fan of Contact, you'll be a fan of Interstellar. It almost seems like Nolan watched Contact and thought to himself, "How can I make this more epic and blow the audiences minds?" It was like he had the concept but when he was filming he had the mentality of a baseball player trying to swing for a homerun every pitch. There were plenty of misses in the movie, but when the hits came, OH BOY did they come. It was a BEAUTIFUL film to watch. Some of the space scenes were downright mystical, but it just seems Nolan was reaching further than his grasp. I'm glad I plopped down the money to see it, but I just have such conflicted feelings about it. For sure, I was definitely exhausted by the time the credits rolled. I cried, I laughed, I left exasperated.
