this might be more suitable in the networking section, but i'll try here first -- it is more OS related anyway.
i've searched high and low for a solution, but can't seem to find one. basically, my problem is when i run ipchains on my linux box, it gives me the error ipchains: Protocol not available. so therefore, i'm not able to do any forwarding or firewalling on my machine.
additionally, when i invoke the command ipchains -L, it says that my kernel does not support it. i am running the latest kernel 2.4.17 on Red Hat 7.2, but i must've missed an option in running make xconfig.
i was wondering whether anyone knows which option i will need to make ipchains, and also iptable, work. in the networking field, i basically turned on most of the routing and IPv4 forwarding, so i'm not too sure about this one.
thanks
