iPhone 4S finally. (What case)

Our account has finally been granted access to the iPhone on VZW. I just purchased one, and I'm expecting it by Wednesday.

Till then... I need to know what case to use. I went naked with every Android device I had simply because there were no good manufacturers for cases, and they usually were always bulky and just ugly looking.

I am going to put a Spigen Ultra Crystal screen protector on the device, and well, I just want a case that will be slim and won't cause me any hardships. My mother had an Incipio Slide or whatever it's called, and it ruined her screen protector. Now, she has a Candyshell, and it works wonderfully with it.

I want something that will snap on like the Candyshell, give it a little lip so if I need to lay it down on the face, have a matte/soft rubber finish, and is also a hard case and not silicone or rubber or flexible.

Any advice would be amazing. I've been surfing the web for the past 1.5 hours trying to find something, and while I have ideas, I want comments from people with cases as well as suggestions.

Also, last thing. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money. I've been tossing the idea around in my head about a battery case, but they're all rather thick and bulky and I don't think any actually offer lip protection to the device.

What do you people of AT recommend me?

Thanks in advance.

Why not a bumper?

To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about the bumpers just because of the fact that they don't offer much protection to the back of the device (not scratches, but drops).

I've never actually seen someone use a bumper. If you can recommend me a decent one, then I'll definitely take a serious look at it.

SGP / Spigen's own bumpers (Neo Hybrid series) are great bumpers. I recommend them over Apple's bumpers.

I like bumpers. The back of an iPhone costs like $20 to replace at the Apple store and are readily available online if you want to do it yourself. I'd risk it.

I had both the 4 and now 4s. The 4 needed a bumper for the antenna issue. With the 4s apple fixed that issue. And the 4s is leaps and bounds above the 4 in speed and function. If you still want a bumper or case, this one is perfect: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details

Very slim. Good grip. Comes in colors.
Then just add a screen shield.

I have that case. Very nice looking and slim. But provides no protection to the front. The case doesn't cover the edges.

I use my phone at the gym and drop it often. Not a good case for that.

I got this one now http://www.amazon.com/Acase-iPhone-S...1038616&sr=1-1

Pretty awesome for protection a bit thick but not to bad. Feels great and has awesome protection. I am going to cut out the headphone jack insert though. As it covers the secondary mic.

I really like my Magpul Field Case. It's cheap, a nice solid design and not soft or flimsy feeling. Slips on the phone easily (without adding much size) and has a small lip around the screen. The only issue I've had is that bigger headphone jacks won't fit into their cutout for it. (In my case Audio-Technica ath-m50s cans)

All good options, but I'm really looking for something harder. I don't like flexible cases to be honest with you. The Magpul didn't seem that flexible, and obviously, I'm unable to tell how it is without actually holding it.

Also, I really want to find something with a little bit of a lip and that covers the top and bottom of the phone as well.

I'll third the Otterbox. I'm clumsy and I know it, so I bought one knowing full well something would happen to my new 4S. Took a tumble on some ice one day and fell forward onto the phone in my pocket. Broke the bottom of the Commuter case and had to buy a replacement, but the phone was still mint. Bought a replacement that very day.

Hm. I'm not sure about the Otterbox. Looks a bit thick to be honest with you.

Also, apparently my house is now becoming a haven for Apple products. I just got my first iPhone. I'm getting my first iPad next weekend (new iPad). My mother has that MacBook Air I was chatting about earlier.

The only thing left standing that isn't made by Apple is my desktop which is a Windows machine I built and my Xbox 360.

I still don't have a case for this iPhone sadly.

I have the Otterbox Defender and it's virtually indestructible. You could throw your phone at a wall, drop it from a high shelf, it won't damage it. But yes, they are a bit chunky. I have to take it off my phone to fit it in my charging dock unfortunately.
