iPod nano sales get pwned

I'm sure that they'll still sell like hotcakes this Christmas. All those folks who wanted a Mini last year and didn't get one will be begging for a Nano.

Personally, I'm not upgrading my 30 GB color iPod until they release something some BIG improvements like video playback, a radio tuner (AM/FM... plus XM or Sirius, maybe?), and a voice recorder.

OK, here's my story...

Live in Illinois. Big Schaumberg store, Chicago store, a store in Northbrook, Oak Brook, and even one about 1 hour away in WI. Friday, I called ALL of them looking for the black 4GB, and every single store was sold out. They had them, they were just ALL gone.

Fast forward to Wednesday. I call all the stores again, early this time. Still no black 4GBs, and this time, most stores didn't have anything but (if anything) the white 2GB.

So I ordered it online and it shipped the next day. Point is, they're selling pretty damn well for ~5 Apple stores in a fairly close area to almost instantly sell out of the more expensive model in almost no time.

First you have to find out what to do with your current Ipod or other Mp3 player (sell or give away). Then you have to decide if you'd rather have that or the Motorola Razr phone. Next you have to check your bank account to see if you want to pay $199+tax or $249+tax. Next you have to find 80 bucks to fill your SUV to get to an Apple Store (or order it online). And so on and so on...

Technology is great but I am happy with the ol' 4g 20gb that I have. I am thinking that sales will be hot this Xmas - unless you count the money that you saved for the new Xbox 360 or PS3... So in all, you're broke and have to go to work tomorrow.

completely wrong where I live...I went out to buy one today, but at all local bestbuys, circuit cities, compusas, and the apple store, the nanos were sold out. Ended up ordering online

Everyone that is buying them seems to only be buying the last one. Mystery solved.

oh, it will sell, but like everyone has said, this is targeting teh mini/shuffle crowd and since those are pretty recent products i doubt these people are that anxious to upgrade already. but eventually, they will

ROTFL! If somebody told that to me, straight in my face, I'd be physically rolling on the floor laughing. Having 4GB Nanos out of stock in basically the entire greater Los Angeles area and they're not selling well? LOL

and look at it this way

2 gig PNY flash drive = 2 gig ipod nano

they're the same price but with the nano you get an MP3 player and picture viewer (just a little bit bigger)

i don't see how its overpriced

It's "overpriced" compared to other players. You're paying a premium for size, etc.

i supose an ipod mini 6 gig isn't that much more

one thing i would like about them though is if you could look at pics on them
