Personally, when I see someone ask a very simple question, one that could have been answered by them putting their same question into Google because I did it, it makes me think
"what an idiot...they're adept enough to sign up for this forum, but they cant take 2 minutes to go to google and type in a question and get an answer, so instead they're gonna wait 10 minutes, or 2 hours for someone to post it here."
It's the questions that are hard to find an answer for, and the opinions of the more experience people in the biz that post here that I come here in search of. I'm always willing to learn, and one of the best ways is to learn from people that have been there.
In the process, I try to help people who have legitimate questions that I know the answer to. It helps me too, because sometimes I dont always get to troubleshoot the problems people are having, but are still common enough in what I do that it makes sense for me to keep the solutions fresh in my mind.
Thats what forums are all about to me, they arent about flaming people because they're an idiot, they aren't about posting topics that are sure to start a flame war. They're about helping people with what you know, and knowing when to sit back and keep your mouth shut and learn from other people who know what you dont.
