Iron Man..gonna be good?

Is anyone else looking forward to Iron Man for 360 (or ps3)? It seems to look pretty darn good so far. Movie games are 9/10 crap, and comic book games are a little better but not always that great. But a comic movie game? That just sounds like it's asking for trouble....except this one looks pretty fun from what I've seen. I'm tempted to pick it up but I'm going to wait for reviews (and if the movie is as good as it looks) before I make up my mind.

What's everyones thoughts on this game?

The parts where Iron Man is running around on the ground look pretty meh. Just something about the way he runs and fights looks....off. But the parts where he is flying around and doing battle look very good though.

It looks pretty cool, but I refuse to believe that it will be any good. Games tied to movies that are set to release around the same time are almost always garbage.

Just goes to show that graphics alone can't make a good game.

Have you seen the gameplay? It looks broken...

Yeah, Chronicles of Riddick is really the only good one I can think of, and that was the rare situation where the game is (a lot) better than the movie.

I remember Superman Returns looked to be very good and was released way after the movie, yet it sucked.

EDIT: King Kong was an exception; it was a good movie and very good game IMO.

"Hardcore" gamers might say it doesn't count, but I enjoyed the Lego Star Wars games.

Hmm..Movie game..Comic game..made by Sega. It has a lot to make it suck, but I still have hope. Queasy is right, when he's on foot he looks floaty and weird. And I wonder if it will just be the same type of missions over and over. I have hope but even when I think it'll be good, I don't imagine it over 7.5

Goldeneye and Lego Star Wars were both released well after their movie counterparts, so they don't count. Both are great games, though.

Even still, the second most recent game you can think of is from 11 years ago.

Actually I think they were books before movies/games. But it is a good game tho. I usually stay the hell away from movie/game tie-ins. Transformers: The Movie game for 360, 3rd worse game ever, on any system. Ug.

Heh. I rented that for my son because he wouldn't leave me alone about wanting to play it. I tried to tell him it was not a very good game but he kept on because he loves Transformers. I eventually gave in and rented it. He gave up on the game after one afternoon because it sucked so much.

Guess he had to learn the hard way. :laugh:

Blade Runner and Tron 2.0 were movie games that turned out great. They were also released long after the movies came out.

Yeah, BR was great, but it really had nothing to do with the movie tho. Wonder if my discs are still around.

Kotaku seems to be excited about it but I'm not sure if anyone has had hands on play time. I assume no multiplayer in the game? I havent heard

Looks like we'll have the opportunity to find out ourselves tomorrow. The 360 will be getting a demo for Iron Man and the PS3 should be getting one soonish.
