ATI is very dumb, I think.
Lately, nVidia got a chance to dominate the market with the GeForce3. ATI showed a preview of their Radeon 8500 what, a month and a half ago? That is probably what prompted such urgent release of the GeForce3 Titanium. And it seems ATI missed their chance. Now the market will get saturated with even cheaper GeForce3 and the faster GeForce3 Titanium, and ATI will be too late.
Sure, ATI's Radeon 8500 may be faster, but.. Instead of being able to sell their Radeon 8500 at around $350 as they originally planned (or was it $400?), they will have to compete against $250 GeForce3 and $300 Titaniums. Which will be tough.
So is ATI dumb or what?!
