I know that some people have gotten vouchers to gain access to Google+. For those of you who have, is it better than Facebook?

Hard to tell. There's nobody on it.

It has definite promise, but it will only be good if people I know can get an account.

Facebook is getting so bad. They always make large, swooping changes to their website without any regard to how the users feel about it. I'm ready to jump ship as soon as possible.

I couldn't get anyone else invited before invitations were closed, so I'd have no idea which is better.

I think Google+ will replace Facebook just like how Facebook replaced MySpace. I saw a report that showed that most Facebook users were VERY dissatisfied with the site, and that they disliked Facebook more than the IRS.

Yeah I got an invite but can't take it cause they aren't accepting any more members at this time.

Less and less of my real life friends are using it, but it has such a huge user base it's going to take a good long time for it to really start to show. People I know are definitely getting bored of it or tired of the privacy BS. Google + will probably replace it in a few years and than in 2018 something will replace Google +.

Things Facebook has that I wish Google+ had:
- Nothing

Things Facebook has that I'm glad Google+ lacks:
- Farmville
- My grandmother

So far, Google+ > Facebook

lol you're full of shit or all your friends are paranoid potheads. (likely both)

Tons of people use facebook and have no reason to switch. Google+ has no reason to switch service except that it has a different name.

It's likely that it will have WORSE privacy issues than Facebook. I mean, it's fucking Google. It's EXCEEDINGLY likely they'll just auto-index everything you fucking say. Say goodbye to privacy.

You don't know what you're talking about. Google+ is specifically tailored toward making sure you have extensive privacy controls, as well as the ability to extract everything from your account if you want to leave. And also making it much easier and clear to remove yourself from the site.

Google+ is better than Facebook, but it lacks the people. And in social networking, that's all that really matters.

Not sure why they think this limited rollout is a good thing, isn't this kind of how Google Wave died?

It's called lure, ya nub. They will lure your ass into the service and then privacy controls will be damned.

I think its important Google+ fails and Facebook remains successful. Why? If Google became the pre-eminent social network in addition to their already incredible clout on the internet, they'd be a de facto internet dictatorship. Not good.

Pretty much. The only reason Google does this stuff is so that they can become the dictator. With all the market penetration they have in so many areas, this is the only thing they need to cover until total domination.

lol I love the Google conspiracies. Oh NO and internet dictatorship!! that it's fruit loops crying about it just makes it funnier.

so far I'm loving Google+ the circles feature is nice, love hangouts and being able to watch videos as a group seems cool.

Circles is nice for just being able to get on the app on my phone and firing off a msg to all my friends who game with me. Quickly getting a group conversation going to figure out what we are going to do is great and simple.

The killer thing for me is that I use a myriad of Google services already(mail, docs, finance, calendar, reader, etc). So having the notification bar/response area on all the pages I visit instead of having to check Facebook is a huge deal. I almost always have Google Reader open in a tab if I'm online, and having the notifications show up there is pretty damn awesome.

Also I bet the Google+ app will become part of the "Google Services" package on Android phones which will help it gain a decent user base. The Facebook Android app sucking balls doesn't hurt their chances either.

It'll take about a week and Facebook will have a similar feature.

It's giant corporations fighting over your data & privacy.
