Is it weird

OK, so I've been gaming since Rogue in DOS, I've played in CAL, I'm in a clan, I build computers, I know how to code, I work Help Desk, and I LAN regularly.

Yet I also go out a lot. I spend most of every day outside with my friends, I disc daily, I party every weekend, I know lots of people, I get laid regularly, and I am great at drinking games (I'm 21 btw).

Is it weird that I am such a nerd, yet actually go out and do things? I was thinking about this on my way into work today, and it struck me as strange. Pretty every one of my LAN buddies is an anti-social pasty white stereotypical nerd, and I've been friends with them forever. I'm the only one who drinks or goes out at all, ever.

Sorry if that didn't really make sense. I'm tired.

I think it's quite a bit more common than you'd think. Most of the people I go out to the bars/clubs/dancing/etc. with wouldn't even be able to fathom how much of a nerd I really am, and most of the really nerded people I game with wouldn't be able to fathom going out and picking up girls - but it happens. I think the days of all nerds sitting in basements by themselves are over, there's quite a bit of crossover now.

you've been in CAL so you should know the wide variety of gamers that play games competitively. i've been to a few CPLs and there are a ton more "normal" looking guys than typical nerds/geeks/whatever.

I mean I know people who leave their house and do stuff, but not frequently. Maybe they'll drop by a party sometimes, but they aren't like me who goes clubbing every so often.
