is my monitor dieing

just about 15 minutes ago it started making a high pitch noise. after some trouble shooting i realized it only makes this noise when a large majority of the screen is filled with light colors. is there a way to fix this? i have turned it on and off and same effect.

If the connection is good and nothing has changed on the pc, it sure sounds like a dying monitor to me.

What settings are you running your monitor at like refresh rate and resolution? I've had a monitor making noises for over a year and it's still working. It's a 17" Gateway (rebadged MAG) from 1996.

i feel like i see amdskip in every thread i post but yes, again, as he mentioned, try changing your refresh rate. and tilting your monitor up/down physically (not screen size / position)

Do what amdskip and xiety suggested. Also, how old is this monitor? Did you recently change the refresh rate and/or increase the resolution?

I had a monitor die on me, but it was quick. One moment, it was fine, then there was a "pop" sound, black screen = dead monitor.

I had a monitor that would start makin' noises like that. My tried and tested method of relief? I'd thwack it on the side of the monitor.
