Is sleep the perfect drug?
When your dreams attain a clarity unrivaled by mere reality and the act of waking up every day induces emotional anguish and a longing sense of withdrawl, sleep indeed becomes the perfect drug from which there is no escape save death.
Astaroth most any shrink will have a couple of drugs they can recommend you
And what would such drugs do, I wonder? My dreams are vivid and in color, with all five senses present and accounted for. I have dreams in places that I return to from time to time, and my dreams often transcend time, space, the laws of nature, and death itself. The other night I had a dream where I could shift between different slices of reality; in one moment I stood on the side of a road at the top of a hill, looking down upon a city on the coast in the distance. I shifted, reality flickered, and the city was gone, replaced by forest, and the road ended in a cul-de-sac where I stood.
They say you never truly die in your dreams, that you always wake up at the moment of death, be it a car accident or falling off a cliff. Not me. Once, I hit the ground and experienced what it was like to die, to have your conciousness dissolve into nothing..
