is this a decent lcd flatscreen?

its on sale at newegg with free shipping for 299. and its a semi-name brand..

everything seems to roughly be between 290-350 as far as 15" lcd flatscreens go right now.

or does anyone know of a better deal right now? trying to get a good deal on a flat screen 15" or 17" (more then likely 15" as they are pretty cheap)

its going to be used for business applications, browsing, etc but not gaming.

If you can afford an extra $65, this Sony looks much better, and it comes with DVI input and all nec'y cables. Plus, the warranty is three-year with advanced replacement; the Sceptre has only one year, and I don't know about advance replacement. I just ordered the Sony for a friend, mainly on looks, but the specs are decent. That said, you can find some 17" LCDs with DVI for only ~$400, and their extra resolution may serve you much better with business apps. MonitorsDirect has a Hitachi on sale on their front page with a three-year warranty that may be worth a look.

Edit: Just to be clear, by "looks much better," I mean it literally looks better, not that the specs are better (they could be, but I didn't compare them). I've seen two of those Sony's in person in a Circuit City, and they have great off-axis viewing. I don't know about ghosting/blurring, as both PCs they were attached to were b0rked in some way. Both were attached to their identical Sony VAIO PCs by both analog and digital connections, and the analog connection looked almost as good as the DVI one.

For business, buy HP L1502, it has 3 years on-site warranty. You want the down-time as short as possible.
Now it's $349 from hp directly. Was $299 last year.

Another choice is Planar (whatever model), 2 days advance exchange includes both way shipping cost, so your down-time is just 2 days.
