Is this a virus?

I've heard that the sobig virus has something to do w/ attacking your email acct. Lately I've been receiving tons of emails over 100k from random users. I never read them, just delete. I searched my computer, but never found a virus. My email acct rarely receives spam (1x month), but now this has started. Is this a virus?

Sobig is usually received by a halfway familiar email address, someone in your addressbook, or from someone's address book... Update your virus scan, and check for it.

No, SoBig searches the infected "familiar" person's (anyone who has your e-mail address) computer for e-mail addresses, finds one for the sender and one for the reciever. Thus the e-mails are really sent be a "familiar" person, but appear to be from one of their friends (possibly unknown).
