Will the cooling in a CM wavemaster be enough for say a 3200 venice w/ a little 0/c'ing, a 7800GT and 1.5Gb of ram?

If you have not bought the WaveMaster yet you should consider a different case.

Cooling is poor at best.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Do not buy the Wavemaster!!!

The cooling in this case is so bad, and I know from personal experience. It only has one 80mm fan in the back for exhaust. It has two 80mm fans in the front for the hard drive rack. These two fans in the front draw "fresh" air from about 30 small holes...most definitely not enough.

You can add the optional 80mm blowhole fan at the top. However when I did this I saw no temperature change in the case, but the extra noise this created from the vibrations was unbareable.

It was so bad that I ended up just getting an Antec Sonata. The Sonata has good air circulation and a efficient internal setup. The only beef I have is that the case is a bit small.

I have a WM, it's fine for cooling.... Albeit, it's not "the best" but, "the best" cases sound like tornadoes and are totally overkill. I also have a Compucase 6A19 as well (Basically an Antec SLK-3000) which IMO is one of the BEST cases for cooling, but mated with quieter fans than stock, it's about the same cooling as the WM.... (same volume of noise also) so I don't think it's a big deal going with the WM.. it's a great looking case also.. can't find a better looking case still IMO (but that's just me)

My system is a 3200 A64, 6800GT, 1GB RAM, and everything is nice and cool inside. The other benefit to the case is that it's pretty quiet with the stock fans running... HTH.

If you're looking at the Wavemaster, that's bad. I would suggest the Praetorian 730. It's a little bit more expensive ($20 more) but it is quite simply the best case I have ever seen. Look in the Cases/Cooling thread on it, for my personal review. I have the black one and it is simply amazing.

I wonder if I could just get the mobo tray for my WM.. the case looks exactly the same inside, cept for the 120 up front.

not worth switching for me, but a nice case nonetheless.

Okay its not the best cooling case due to its huge size and so little fans I'll give you that . But other than that it a okay case its not the worse case .Try it out see if you like it if not sell it to a friend or something and then get this case which i have http://coolerguys.com/840556060673.html

Umm, maybe your WM was an older Model or something, but mine has over 100 (105) 3/8+" holes in the front where the fans pull air from. Plus air can enter the case from around the 5 1/4" drive slots. This is probably as good of air-intake as my old Antec Case.

Also let's not forget your PSU is going to be sucking and exhausting air from your case as well

I've not had any temp problems with my System, they're pretty good actually. The only addition to cooling I've made is a PCI slot fan I put by my Graphics card to help keep the temps down on that beast - sheesh these new Cards run hot (check Anands 7800 temp reviews) :disgust:

So far I've only seen 64C on my Graphics card after playing Far Cry for a couple hours

Well, I didn't actually go to my basement and count the number of holes. I recalled that from memory almost a year ago

All I know is, when I watercooled I put the radiator where the hard drives would go (I gutted the case). The difference in CPU temperature with the front bottom assembly on (little holes) and off was about 9 Celsius. That's probably why I have a bad opinion of the air circulation for the WM
